Are you a rising star? Does your work stand out? Have you made an impact on research or dissemination of knowledge in the digital health area?

We are accepting applications for the 2019 ISRII 10th Scientific Meeting Awards!

The nominations for all awards should be completed using the application form (there is a separate form for each award category), and sent to Sarah Hetrick (s.hetrick@auckland.ac.nz) by 15 October 2018.

The ISRII Rising Star Award

The ISRII Rising Star Award is intended for early career researchers whose work is beginning to make a significant impact on the international scene, reflecting either scientific excellence or public impact.

Award: A certificate and a waiver of conference registration fees at the next ISRII International Meeting.

Eligibility: The applicant will be a member of ISRII at the time of the conference. Those who have previously received a Rising Star (previously known as an Early Career Award) from ISRII are not eligible. Applicants are eligible if they are at least 2 years and less than 7 years (as of 13 February 2019) from the date of the letter advising that their doctoral thesis was passed, unless career disruptions exist. Career disruptions need to be justified.

The ISRII Lifetime Achievement Award

The ISRII Lifetime Achievement Award is intended for senior researchers, who have made a significant and major contribution to the development of the field of digital health and who are viewed as leaders in the field by the ISRII community.

Eligibility: The applicant will be a member of ISRII at the time of the conference. People who have previously received a Lifetime Achievement Award from ISRII are not eligible. Only peers can nominate potential candidates. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The ISRII 2019 Scientific Meeting Fee-Waiver Awards

ISRII funds Fee-Waiver Awards for students and early career researchers to facilitate attendance at the 2019 Scientific Meeting.

Award: a number of Fee-Waiver Awards will be available for students and early career researchers (defined as within 7 years (as of 13 February 2019) from the date of the letter advising that their doctoral thesis was passed, unless career disruptions exist).

Eligibility: People who have received this award (previously called a Travel Grant) previously are not eligible. This award comprises the cost of a 3-day registration for the 2019 ISRII meeting.

Process: Students and early career researchers who wish to be considered for a Fee-Waiver Award should submit an the Award Application form indicating that they meet the eligibility criteria with regard to not having previously received an equivalent award (previously called a Travel Award), and that their department is not already covering the costs of registration. The selection of successful awardees will be made by the local organising committee, who will inform successful recipients prior to the conference.

The Best Poster Award

The Best Poster Award will be awarded based on the recommendations of the ISRII Award Committee. During the ISRII 10th Scientific Meeting, the Award Committee will assess the posters and select the winning one. The judges will evaluate the posters according to the following criteria:

  • Quality of the research in terms of theoretical and methodological aspects
  • Originality of the work presented
  • Added value of the research in terms of “closing a gap” in knowledge
  • Clarity of communication (visual and verbal)
  • Adequateness and originality of poster layout in relation to its contents

Award: The award includes a certificate, and a waiver of conference registration fees at the next ISRII International Meeting.

Eligibility: The applicant will be a member of ISRII at the time of the conference. All poster presenters are eligible. In special cases, it is possible to have more than one winning poster.
